The word cancer is common among all, especially if we speak in relation to food, there are still many myths about the causes that cause it.

Each cancer patient is special, but look broadly common cancer risk factors that recur in most cases:

* Aging: While children, teens and adults can suffer, it is common that after 65 years of age becomes a risk factor.
* The snuff: people who smoke are more likely to develop some form of cancer, besides being a habit that can be avoided.
* The sun’s rays: ultraviolet radiation, both the Sun and from tanning beds, cause premature aging and skin damage. We recommend sun exposure in moderation and at convenient times after the 17 pm or before 11 pm.
* Ionizing radiation: the cellular damage resulting from sources like X-rays, radioactive fallout, radon gas or radiation in excess, not on the scale used for the treatment of cancer.
* Certain chemicals and substances: the constant exposure to asbestos, benzene, benzidine, cadmium, nickel and vinyl chloride at work can cause cancer.
* Some viruses and bacteria are produced by infection with human papilloma virus, hepatitis B and C, leukemia, Epstein Barr virus, HIV, Helicobacter pylori and human herpesvirus 8.
* Use of menopausal hormone therapy.
* History of cancer in the family: the risk of inheriting the mutation of genes in cells.
* Excessive alcohol, the right serving is 1 cup per day for women and 2 drinks for men per day.
* Unbalanced diet, physical inactivity and overweight: increasingly it is found that the diet rich in saturated fats, junk food and sedentary lifestyle is one of the causes of recurrent occurrence of cancer today. Eat well, varied and quality, to accompany the diet with exercise and maintain proper weight are the tools we have at our disposal even prevent cancer.
